Hitron Technologies Inc. (HTI) has developed an autonomous Tick Collection Robot (TiCoBot), allowing for effective tick study and population surveillance by performing the collection process in a reliable fashion that eliminates many of the dangers and inefficiencies associated with traditional tick collection. The Ticobot can work in active mode to scan a chosen area for automatically capturing ticks through autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance. It can also work in static mode to capture ticks through the use of CO2 or other chemical attractants.
